New Play Festival at Clark University

Every other year, I produce a new play festival through Clark University for student playwrights there to have their works read and performed.  It’s a cool event and I’m very proud of the students.   We run April 11 through May 1 at the Little Center Theatre on the Clark Campus.

Here’s a cool write up we got in the Worcester Magazine:

Playwriting Class

Award winning playwright Gino DiIorio is offering an 8 week playwriting class for both beginning and intermediate playwrights.

Using a balance of lecture, exercise and feedback on work from the instructor and classmates, this class gives students a firm grounding in all basics of playwriting.

The course will focus mostly on full length plays but short works are welcome too.  Each class will include mini-lectures on the basics of playwriting followed by weekly writing exercises. Students will write each week and hear their scenes read out loud.  Toward the latter part of the term, we’ll bring actors into class to read works out loud as well.

8 sessions, $350.00

Class is strictly limited to 10 students

Classes begin Tuesday, May 10th, 6.30-9.30 PM, Midtown Location

For more information or to register, contact GINOD42@aol.com

Gino DiIorio has over twenty years experience teaching both playwriting and acting.  His plays have won many awards and have been produced both nationally and internationally.
